TII hood on 86 n/a issue

well i got my hood on and it latches the first time..but the 2nd wont catch and i looked into it more and it looks like it is hitting my radiator neck is hitting part of the hood and not letting it latch...getting a TII radiator should fix this right? i searched and didnt find any thing

yes i know i sound like a dumbass but i wanna make sure before i spend money on a tII rad and it not fix it.

A turboII hood will fit a 86na just fine. Been there, done that. Sorry, no radiator neck on a 86na. If you think it's hitting something, then put some modeling clay on the item and close the hood. You can work it out from there.

I had to custom adjust my turbo hood on my 90 gxl. I had to cut a hold on the latch so it had room to move up or down.

AFAIK, the only difference between the alloy and steel hood latches is the spring pressure. Otherwise, I believe they are dimensionally the same.

This Man gets the Prize!..the steel hood is heavier and will Make the Latch Snap closed easy..Since the Aluminum hood is half the Weight, you have to either get a Hood latch for an Aluminum hood,SLAM the Freakin hood,or Some way adjust the Spring on it.

Yep, if you absolutly cant find a spring, you might have to do what i did and just simply cut an insestion in the latch so you can bring it down more.
