TII Harness Connector Removal
I am installing my TII engine harness into a 87 base and want to remove anything that is not needed. I have attached a pic of the wiring diagram. My TB has been modified and I have no emissions left on the motor. I have color coded it for removal questions.
I believe the stuff I have highlighted yellow can be removed safely.
The stuff in red I am not sure about and am seeking your input/advice.
There is one item which is highlighted in yellow and red which is the variable resitor for the injectors. I have purchased 10ohm/10w resistors to go with new denso 550 pri and 720 sec. Also, while mounting my Greddy FMIC the hole was cut where this item would have been mounted.
I have a S5 motor with all S4 harness, sensors, and front cover.
Please let me know if I am incorrect with anything that is in yellow, and advie on the highted red connectors.
thanx as always,
Michiael

Nice car!
Anyway, the variable resistor is the L-R thingy by the boost sensor. This controls mixture at idea. Do not disconnect it. It has nothing to do with the resistors. The injector resistor pack is a rectangular box with (I reckon) 6 wires coming out, not three. I didn't see that in the diagram, prolly cause you are using a high impedance year harness (so you will need the additional resistors).
I'll tell you what, my swap is complete and running, I'll trade you yours for mine!

Thanx
No, but I appreciate the offer. If I had a clue of what I was actually doing this would not be so bad. I will probably have a nervous breakdown before I finish, not to mention an empty bank account.
Thanx

Forgot to mention that if you have no emissions and are removing the rats nest then you can remove everything circled in red (and yellow, but I'm not sure what "actuator" is for, cruise control?)
I did a search and found this post.I am doing the samething and would also like to know for sure if I it is ok to remove the circled yellow connectors. I Have no emmisions as well. I know I am not removing the variable resistor, but I am removing the other circled red connectors. Oh , except for the accuator for the cruise control.
Any input would be appreciated as well.

Remove them all assuming your smart enough to plumb the fpr's vacuum hose into a known good source of manifold vacuum. The Variable Resistor might be kept for adjusting the idle.
If your harness does not have a Solenoid Resitor package, then make sure you use high impedence injectors OR install approx 10ohm resistors inline with the fuel injectors. The Solenoid Resistor package was installed under the afm/filter. Bolted to the fender. Silver in color.
