Exclamation TII fog light bulbs

Hey i was wondering if any of you guys knew what type of bulb the TII fogs are. i looked them up at my work (advance auto pats) and it told me that they were h3's. H3's dont have the same connections so i was hoping one of you guys could point me in a direction of a part number or something.
thanks,
Izzy

Search - Its not hard..

H3C bulbs. Hard to find sometimes.. but you can find them online... Ebay, Froogle, Google... check'em out. I just found them for 6-7 bucks each. I ordered 4 of them for 30 bucks shipped.

There was no pic.. so I'm hoping they are legit.. but if they are, w00t... It was too cheap to pass up.

Thats the item I bought 4 of. If you want to wait a couple weeks, I'll know when I get them if they are the right ones.

You can adapt the fog light housing to use a standard H3 bulb.. its pretty easy.

There's a writeup of it.

no no no.. if its anything like my s5 vert fogs then it is in deed a h3. You can use the single wire bulbs you just have to ground the base.
Here is my post: https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...4&postcount=11.
and here is the link inside my post: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/light...onversion.html.

edit: oh wow sorry micaheli I didn't see your post until now.. I'm a bit tired. but yeah here it three people that have done this 'conversion.' You, me, and the write-up.

it's funny that no one knows about h3cs though.. I was at oreilly's for quite sometime and know one had a clue.. the grounding issue came up a few times but no one was positve. In the end I just googled and found that lexus webpage. Then I revived a dead thread. I really think that this 'conversion' should be added to the FAQ. Icemark? Aaron?

I'm also waiting for some replacement bulbs of different types to come in.

I ordered some Hella H3 replacement bulbs (yellow) that I'll be adapting to one of my FC's, and some H3C bulbs (clear white) that were dirt cheap at 6 bucks each. Soon as they come in, I'll do the write-up on my wiki so everybody can use it.

I could maybe do a write up one day as I think I'm going to take my h3c out of my other fog light and put an h3 in. I'm also going to, hopefully at the same time, make the fogs come on with the parking lights. It's simple someone on here told me how to do it. So I'll give him credit.

haha.. well what I was told is you take the fog light relay behind the bumper and splice the 12v line into the parking light line. so just run a wire from the relay to the front left or right lense. Also I want to make my headlights come on down. But probably not all at once.

Now a question for rotorhead izzy is can you turn the lights off still?

yea i can still turn the lights off. i didn't wire the lights the way you are supposed to tho. i bought a fog light wiring kit because my gtus didn't come with them, so i wired them to come on when the parking lights are on. then i threw a switch in there so i can turn them off if i want to.

I PMed Dr. IfTeR about having foglights on while the headlights are down and this is what I got:

I did it cheaply.

When you pop the hood there are 4 or 5 relays right next to the coolant overflow tank. One of these is the relay for the foglights. I disconnected the 12v input that comes from the dash and instead connected 12v from the side marker light (i spliced into the side marker 12V)so when the side marker comes on, the fog lights come on.

1) Turn on the fog lights.
2) Unplug each one of the relays until the fog lights turn off.
3) When the fog lights turn off, you've found your relay.
4) The connector is a 4 pin connector. You'll need a multimeter to find out which wire to take out of the connector. It will be the one that gets supplied with 12v when you turn on the fog light switch.

5) Replace it with the 12v source you splice from the side marker, or any 12v source you want to use to activate the foglights. Since relays are activated by low amperage sources, you can use just about anything that's 12V.
