TII Exhaust Gasket Options Advice Needed

I am getting ready to install the new exhaust system on my TII. For the downpipe gasket (oddball shaped one from the turbo) the best price I could find is at the dealer for $39, $48 at RB. WTF!!!

Are there any other options? Can I use some High Temp stuff and clean the connections really good? Anything I could possibly do so I will not have to pay the $40 bucks for a damn gasket?

For all the other flanges, is there a sealant I could use instead of gaskets? Or perhaps some kind of Form-A-Gasket material?

Thanks

go to shop and ask them for some gasket material...
i got some high temp fuel and oil safe gasket material from a radiator shop i stopped by to use for my waterr pump gasket... the stuff was about a 1/16 of an inch thick--pretty thick--.. the guy gave me some for free and i still have about 90% of it left

Man you can find the gasket at the local parts store. My friend knows the people at one of the local ones here (he used to work there) so when I needed one we just went in the back and grabbed the right one. Was less than $5. Oh and later on I saw that they had some out on the shelves, even some copper ones.

The exhaust/turbo gaskets are a stainless steel/high-temp insulator sandwich; Corky Bell claims this is the best type of exhaust gasket possible.&nbsp You pay to play - the stock exhaust gasket is the best from Mazda.&nbsp Try to use anything else (i.e. cheaper), and it will not work as well as the stock unit.

Mind you, the stock exhaust/turbo gaskets CAN be reused.&nbsp Check to see that the original gasket does not have any cracks or obvious signs of melting on the "inside" edges where the manifold meets the exhaust ports.

Try one of the sponsers. Mazdaformance.com
Brian can give you some pretty good deals. Also if you race (Auto-x or drag) you can get heavy discounts from Mazda competition.
