Thumbs up TII Convertible - first impressions

I thought I'd share my experience with the TII conversion. To begin with, it's not a plug and play process like so many people claim. You can make it run by just plugging in the TII ECU but your Temp and Volt gauges won't work. I chose to keep the N/A gauge cluster and go with a piller mount boost gauge. The easy part of the project is the big parts like the rear end, axles, driveshaft, and transmission. Those pieces just bolt up...no big deal. The engine is simple too. One issue was downpipe clearance. I'm using a Bonez downpipe and it was resting on the chassis bracing (convertible only). I removed the brace and notched it with a die grinder so it wouldn't rub.

The project took a few months as I was acquiring parts, ordering gaskets, etc. I drove the car over the past couple days. It's a whole lot faster than my bone stock '88 Anniv. The car has a dowpipe, no cat, stock Y Pipe with Dynaflow mufflers, K&N cone intake, and FCD. It's got a nasty exhaust leak due to a warped flange on the stock connector pipe. It's been easily getting 9 PSI of boost. I haven't really pushed it and probably won't until the exhaust leak is fixed. After all the work, I'm not looking to blow the engine.

Looking back, it was a lot of work, but it was worth it. I can't wait to get a real cat-back. Right now it's LOUD.

If anyone is interested, I have lots of parts leftover, including a perfect running 13B that was in the convertible, 2 TII transmissions, another TII engine\turbo, TII gauges, intake, boost sensor, N332 ECU, and lots of other small parts.

N332 is the S4 ECU correct? Do you have any parts that would work on a S5? (aside from tranny)(maybe wiring harness..)

Thumbs up If interested in this subject..........

If anyone knows how to link threads, I started one where IceMark gave a great report of before and after T2 conversion impression. Titled VERTs or T2 Vert.

N332 is S4. I used the TII harness. I don't have any S5 parts.
