Angry TII can't go over about 3K RPM

First of all, I have just searched for about 2 hours on here, but didn't find any problem like this.

This car is an 88TII with electric fan, k&N cone style intake, and racing pipe.

I guess this started 3 days ago. My car was jerking quite a bit when I let off the gas or had the gas petal in some special spot. I thought it was bad gas at first.

But today, I start driving give it a little gas and it is like the car shut down around 3K RPM. It won't even get to 3K if I do WOT, it just stops going.
I took it out of town and took forever to get up to 50mph, had to shift every gear before 3k.

The car idles fine. If I leave the petal down long enough in 1st after it stops, it will start bucking.

I was thinking it might be the TPS, but that wouldn't shut the accelerating power down. I haven't done the throttle body mod yet, would today be a good day to do that? I'm going to check out the MAF right now.

Can you think of anything else that might be causing this problem? Please help!!

Its the tps. Yes it does cut fuel. In your particular case I'd do the ohm's method of setting the tps and checking the tps for *opens* when you move the tps through its full range. See the free factory manuals at fc3s.org for information on setting the tps. Or go to http://www.iluvmyrx7.com for a free download of the manual. EDIT: Read this thread https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=26334 and the answer by Six Rotors for an explanation of why you might suspect your tps.
