What other mods do you have? If you still have the stock exhaust I don't think it would.

Agreed, if you're still running stock exhaust then a larger TID *shouldn't* raise your boost beyond the 8.6PSI. Then again, I'd occasionally hit fuel-cut in my first TII with stock exhaust and zero mods. Very rare, but it was still possible to experience boost-creep in 3rd gear, up hill and with it very cold out.

Regardless of a larger dia. TID or not, you should still port your stock WG.

The stock TID is plumbed for the stock BOV and some emissions stuff, so you will have to work around that if you make a custom one. Otherwise get a new OEM one from Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda or from Mazdatrix

ok i dont have any emissions stuff on the car and if i dont put the blow off valve in the tid to recirculate air then i will probably star shooting a flame or two at high rpm shifts

Am i right?

From: Rancho Cucamonga Ca,
You are right, but you will also bog slightly between shifts and potentially cause some idling issues.

With a custom TID I had a Greddy FMIC with the BOV welded to a flange on the intercooler piping past the turbo. It didn't have an idle problem, but it sure as hell liked to backfire. That was cool at first but it wasn't controllable, it would be obnoxiously loud and go off around cops sometimes.
