tid with 2 90 degree mandrel bends?

I was wondering if 2 90 degree sections of mandrel bends connected together (welded or silicone coupled) would work well as a tid? What about 2 45 degree sections?

Heres a graphical representation. I need it to be level and facing forward so that I can use the vinspeed intake heat shield.

You will need two quite sharp bends to be able to do that and still fit everything in. Most of the gains from this mod come from removing the two restrictive bends in the stock TID.

Any suggestions to fit the vinspeed box and a 3 inch tid pipe?

Sure...Metal tends to heat soak though, which is why most TIDs are made of plastic.

Would wrapping it in exhaust tape help relieve heatsoaking?
