Could the problem in my car be the throw out bearing? It's making a really loud whinning sound, and it sounds like you goin up a roller coaster in any gear but 4th when you shift to them. Just a loud *clink clink* sound that gets faster as you accelarate. Somebody please lemme know what i need to do!

 

I suggest you just go ahead and drop the tranny and inspect everything. Any whirring noise you can hear can be one of a number of things from the pilot bearing, throwout bearings, to loose internals, to no lubrication. If its making noises only while it is in gear and not in all gears, its most likely the internals of the tranny.
