throttlebody dashpot position question

throttlebody dashpot position question

should the white tab from the dashpot be touching the black part?

Kind of hard to describe in the context of the picture, but the throttle linkage should be compressing the white part.

The dash pot is like one of those things that keeps a door in a building from slamming ****. It slows the closing of the throttle valve.

I detest those kind of doors. In addessing the question, the linkage pulls away from the White piece when the rpm is 3,000 (you can check the FSM for this to verify the number).

the opposite, it actually delays the double throttle butterflies from opening rapidly fully.

the nikki throttle body is overly complex and you hardly notice even if you have fully mechanical rapid movement secondaries. i suspect it is to keep air velocity up while the turbo spools, but the difference is almost immeasurable.
