Throttle Diaphram 89 GXL MT
So I was reading so threads and seen something caught my eye. My throttle diaphram has two ports on it. I read this is a a/t diaphram versus the m/t having only one port. If this is true then it explains the extra port on the thermovalve. Someone please tell me this true and end my search for this.
I'm confused as to what your question means...
My 89 GXL (MT NA) has 2 sets of throttle plates on 3 chambers (form a triangle.) Only the two upper chambers have the warm up plates. All three chambers have the main throttle plates.

He's talking about the double throttle diaphragm, which opens the outer set of secondary plates. Vacuum is applied to the diaphragm when the thermovalve allows it. Automatics had two chambers on the diaphragm, while manuals only had one.
