Throttle body different on auto?

I've been meaning to ask this for a while, finally went out and took pics. I couldn't find any mention to any differences between auto/manual engines on the S5.. Other than the obvious flex plate/couterweight stuff.

Throttle bodies on every 91 NA I've owned (like 4 so far) have been the same... the 91 auto I got recently has a couple different linkages and such... Here's the pics:

91 Manual NA:

91 Automatic NA:

Weird Huh.... It just opens all of the butterfly valves unless the actuator pulls it down... which is the opposite from the manual... On the manual, it pulls the top butterfies shut until warm.. then it opens up.

The automatic doesn't run, so I can't see its behaviour.

Any ideas?

All RX-7's have a double throttle system, it just functions differently depending on the model.
As for that linkage, I dunno. The only s5 I have experience with is an auto, and it has that extra linkage. I just thought it was normal.
Edit: I just went out and looked at the TB, and I don't think it works the way you described. The double throttle diaphram keeps the double throttle plates closed when they are supposed to be (I assume when cold, but there might be other times on an auto.) When warm the diaphram relaxes and allows the throttle movements to move the double throttle plates normally.

Wow.. Weird.... In all of the manual's I've had.. it looks like the pic above of a manual.... and they've all been S5... Okay, well. I don't see a problem with it.... I'll probably end up using it on a manual trans.. but in every auto-->manual swap I've seen, I've never heard of them changing it. If it bothers me too much, I'll just do the TB mod and get rid of those plates.
