throttle body
so i recently purchased an 89 GXL, and the throttle body idling control screw on the front of the throttle body is broken off, and so doesnt idle corectly. its jumps up and down and then dies sometimes when i would turn conrners so ive stopped driving it. now my friend has a two series 5 RX-7 just like i do, but when we took the throttle body off his old engine, and his junker engine to replace it with mine, we found they only have one sensor in the front where as mine has two, plus the wiring harness to it is different. is this because his is a GTU, and mine is a GXL? im trying to get it fixed asap so i can get it on the streets just wondering if anyone knew so i could know what to look for to get it fixed, thanks for the help guys

yes its the TPS sensor, but both of his throttle bodies only have one. could i just remove the TPS sensors from my throttle body and put them onto one of his throttle bodies and everything still be correct on it?

Yeah I was under the impression that the S4 had single TPS while the S5 had a dual sensor TPS, like a narrow and full range TPS.
A quick search reveals:
How can I get a Full Range TPS in an S4?
They are talking about going from an S4 to S5 TPS on a S4 TB which is what you want to do with the donor S4 TB and then use it in your S5 car.
Unfortunately, the S5 TPS has both a narrow and full range plunger, each plunger works off a separate cam on the throttle body. The S4 throttle body is designed to operate only the narrow tps single plunger.
So the answer to your question is no. You can not simply switch your S5 TPS to his S4 TB.
