For those of you that removed abs...
I wanted to know how the brake bias became. I have a 1989 t2 and im looking to remove my abs. Ive done some research and came to two ways of doing it and i wanted to know how it worked out for you guys. First way is the simplest, mazdatrix abs delete kit. To be honest, it doesnt look the best but im sure there are ways to make it look clean in the bay, but thats not my concern. I really wanted to know if the kit is going to ruin my brake bias, it just doesnt seem like a proper way of doing the job. The second is following this tutorial (https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-arch...emoval-938203/) I have to buy 3 brake lines (which im not even sure if they still have them in stock) and buy a double banjo bolt and some how put everything together... but still at the end he said his brake bias was too strong in the back. Anyways, i would appreciate some more info on this subject!

If you plan on this..LMK.
I am saying this as I may part that car that I have..(up in Cdn section) and IF I do,I'll hopefully get sales for the GTA..(plans are get some sales and deliver a bunch of stuff,at once)
I can take the lines off that you need..before I scrap the body.

Check out the thread in my sig. I just did this a few years ago. I used that same thread you linked to as a guide, but thought I'd add more information (and pics!) to help others. If you don't feel comfortable bending your own lines, just replace with the Mazda ones. I haven't experienced any noticeable bias and it brakes just fine.

Ive used the mazdatrix kit before. There was a change in the bias, I had to do a few emergency stops in the car that I had used the kit on and it definitely pulled the nose in one direction under hard braking. I can't remember for sure which direction, that was 5 years ago... but I want to say left.

These ABS pumps are prone to leak like a sieve after 20+ years, getting brake fluid all over your engine bay. A new one costs more than what some people paid for the car and currently there is no rebuild kit. They also weigh quite a bit, lending an argument to weight reduction.

Rotary nut for 15 years.
1. It sucks.
2. It develops a leak and is expensive as all hell to replace.
3. It really sucks.
I removed mine but my dilemma is that I have more bias in the rear. It's not terrible but I can't go hard into a corner and if I need to brake during a turn it makes the *** end very loose.

Gotca! Enough said. Only had my FC for about a year (plan on selling it)...no crazy problems so far

Further FYI, it looks like the rear line in Mazda's warehouses is still for RHD cars. It definitely does not line up as it came from Mazda. There is one extra bend in it that makes it face the wrong direction. I have a pretty good relationship with my dealer, I'm going to see if they can maybe call and ask someone about this. It has the correct part number on it, but it looks like somehow they started shipping over RHD versions. This for part # FB01-45-360C.

So to chime in on this topic as I'm about to delete a abs unit for the 2nd time on a turbo model. All I did was go buy some straight brake line, a bend tool and a flair tool. I also bought 3 brake line adapters to connect the new line to the old. I cut the original front lines right by the shock towers and the rear line as it goes down the tranny tunnel. Now I should note I did this while I had the engine out of the car so it was a little easier to install. I used the the stock turbo mc and brake booster that was originally in there. When bending the lines I just tried my best run them where the stock non abs lines would have been until I reached the original line and then connected them together. I did this back in 2004 and my brother now has the car and still daily drives it. He has tracked it numerous times (drift and road course) and never had any issues with the brakes. Brake bias seems to be fine as I never had issues and haven't heard him say anything either. The only thing that I am going to different this time on the turbo model I have now is I am going to try and route the lines all the way to the front calipers instead of cutting and adapting them to the old.
This is just my experience
