To those who live in apartments.

I just moved into one 2 weeks ago and have a question....

Where do you work on your car at? Apparantly they frown on doing it in the parking lot here. I havn't done anything to it yet here except add oil, but where is a good place to work on it? Or should I just break out the tools in the parking lot?

As long as you don't spill any fluids or leave it up on jack stands overnight or anything, you can get away with a lot...I always went over to my parents house to work on my car when I last lived in an apartment. If they bitch at you for working on your care say "look, I have to be able to drive it to work tommorow, I know what I'm doing, I'm not gonna leak any fluids, and I'll done in a little bit. Thank you."

Yeah, it sucks bad. At my apartment we have limited parking so we only have reserved spots. I have one spot and three cars
Lucky for me the shop I work at is two blocks away and thats where I work on my cars. Before I worked there I would just take my car to My parents house to work on it. I did work on my car a few times in the parking lot and no one said anything, but I think I was pushing my luck. If you work on it on sundays usually no one is there that works there.

Good luck,

Mike

I'm not supposed to work on my car at my apt., but I do anyway. The manager used to always bitch at me for changing my oil and such, but I've ignored them for so long that they don't even bother anymore.

I live in an appartment now, and I work on my are almost every day. They always look at me funny, but oh well. I had to change my oil line to my oil cooler last weekend, and I did it in the parking lot. But no one bitched about it. I left a little mess
I cant wait to get a damn house with a garage
