third time i've asked this

i'll keep it simple this time. right past the stock air box there are wires and a sensor hooked to the stock intake pipe. is this the MAF sensor and if it is how are home-depot intakes made? where is that sensor going? i may be wrong but i seem to remember from autoshop that i need this. does ANYONE have ANY clue?

ryan

p.s.
i've used the search engine but no one explains it

Yes, that is the MAF. Yes it has to be hooked up, UNLESS you are using an aftermarket computer.

Home Depot CAI --

Buy a cone filter with a heat sheild around it There might be one commercially available, but you'll at least need one with a flange (or buy the flange seperately) to attach to the MAF. Attach dryer hose to end of sheild, run drier hose to front of car.

hope it helps

yes, you need to keep the MAF sensor. That sensor just gets put inline when you make the 'home depot' intake -- put it after the cone filter. If you go to www.ebay.com and search for 'rx-7' you'll find LOTS of cone filters + adapters to the MAF sensor, at a total cost of less than $20

Have fun ,
