thinking about going single

i need to replace my exhaust, i have a 91 n/a and i am pretty broke right now, im thinking about going with some headers, presilencer or high flow cat, and custom 2.5" pipe back to 1 muffler. im wondering if this will give me any performance gain over a stock system. any other input would be greatly appreciated.

You will definitly get a performance gain replacing the stock manifold and cats with headers and a high flow. As for the cat-back, either a single or dual system will be fine, but single will save you some weight.

Do it marrage sucks

Single is better.. But it doesn't look as nice.. If you do i would do a road race header and dual all the way back and collect around the rear axle.. (You'll have to measure)

DUAL!!! The rear bumper has two cut-outs. Use them. Otherwise it looks like your exhaust is broken.

I'm going to do a single system off to my passenger side. If you look at Soul Assassin's car...it was my inspiration for it. Plus, I save weight on an already porky S5 TII.

I've got a single with a turbo muffler and it runs well and is pretty quiet.

Ya you will get a very good improvement. The dual prolly wouldn't give you any more HP, maybe less even. True dual would give you slightly better improvement but not too much even. Make sure you go with the passenger side...its the Rx7 way
