thinkin bout buyin a rx7 2n gen?

hey guys this is officially my first post. right now i have a 97 sohc auto neon. ok stop laughing i know it is slow and boring. this is what i want: any 2nd gen rx7, HAS TO BE TURBO and 5 speed. my rwhp goals are anything over 350hp. what are the differences between the years off turboII's and which would be my best bet. what would be the most efficient and reliable way to acheive my hp goals. thanx guys. ALL INFO would be helpful.

jdubau5,

Hey welcome to the forum.

Lot's of previous experience here on the forum. You can find some great setups in the "archive" section (seen 2 pages up).

To get 350 reliable rwHP you'll want to complete 3 stages of upgrades. Basically you need fuel delivery upgrades, larger volume turbo (a maby a little more boost), computer/ECU upgrades, boost controller, etc...

Take a look around at all the "mods" lists, there's a lot to choose from here.

Besides HP upgrades, there's lots of upgrades including drivetrain, suspension, bodykits, etc..

Many many choices.

For me I decided on getting a 89+ Turbo II and just maxing the OEM setup. Right now I'm pushing 225HP but I'll probably upgrade to a manageable ECU, and boost controller to push 260HP from just the stock setup and be happy.

I've branched out and picked up a convertible as a daily driver (keep the TII as a classic/weekend car).

The convertible may eventually be converted to a turbo II though
