Think your devoted to 2nd gens???
I've got every dealer sales brochure from 79-93, a set of 4 posters from 1980 of popular GTU cars(water color reproductions of RX-7's), a poster from 1979 of the recomended maintenance schedule for the RX-7(there is a cut-a-way drawing of the 1979 RX-7 on the bottom) and an perfect owners manual from 1979. At one time a had a room in my parents house decorated with these and other car picture that were all framed but now I'm married with children and the pictures are either put away or hanging in my office at work but atleast I still have two RX-7's.

The car in the poster is a Ford RS200. I believe it was a purpose built rally car from the mid 80's. FWIW I've seen one wreck before on tv into a crowd of people. Killed a few and hurt many others. The crowd of remaining people were about ready to lynch mob the driver and co-driver. They had to leave the scene or probably get killed.
this was a group B rally car, was it not? like the delta s4. this **** happened alot in group B...not only did ALOT of drivers die, but there were alot of highly publicized incidents of cars hitting the crows of (idiots, if you ask me) people who get a few feet from break neck turns...you'd think they would quit doing that, after all the accidents in the past
Those were some wicked cars. The WRC cars now are tame compared to some of those cars. Luckily the event organizers will cancel stages of a race if the crowds get to bad. I've seen many on Speedvision where the roads are lined with the yellow police tape to keep the spectators off the edge of the road. It doesn't always work but they try.
I bet you guys dont have this,,i have a genuine mazda rotory mechanics suit that was never worn..Its blue with a sewn in rotor on the front with MAZDA letters underneath..I bought it off some guy on the internet..I like to wear it whenever im chillin outside ..It gets alot of attention..Hope i dont get jacked for it..

How about...
Half a dozen FC Yamaguchi books...
(A pair of FD Yamaguchi books...but I'll deny I ever owned them.
)White FC and Panda AE86 Initial D models - I'll admit, they were a Christmas present
Red FC pillow - another Christmas present - not that hard to get

The only reason i have the FD Yamaguchi book is because it covers the major-minor change. =]
Between Mike and I, we have enough stuffed red turboII pillows to fill a room. They fun to randomly through at people.

Speaking of MOVIES. In the opening scene of Rainman there is an FC in the background when they show all the Lambos lined up. and in the movieFletch 2 there is a shot of the back end of a gold FC brand spankin new.
I think I am...
Before I had to move, and in the process, clean up my house, I had the following items in my spare bedroom:Two complete sets of front LCA's (86-88)
One set GXL, one set base model stock springs
One set GXL, one set base model stock sway bars
One brand new PS pump (veh spd sensitive)
One brand new vss power steering rack
Complete set of new PS hoses
One complete set of 5-lug hubs, including calipers and rotors
One complete set of 4-lug hubs, including calipers and rotors
A pair of light grey leather seats from a 91 TII
A pair of red fabric seats from an 86 GXL
One aluminum hood
One steel hood
One rear glass
Three sunroofs, including racks
Three doors (down, hehe) one pass and two driver's
A pair of 86 model power mirrors (no air gap)
A complete set of GSL-SE wheels
A complete set of Vert wheels
At least a dozen tires
Two complete sets of NA halfshafts
All complete wiring harnesses from an 86 GXL, separated and boxed by harness
Three double-din factory am/fm/tape (two 86-88, one 89-91)
EVERY electrical and interior part from an 86 GXL, plus spares
And that's just what I can recall from the bedroom.
Porch had, among other things:
One complete NA intake
One complete TII intake, less turbo
All heating/AC parts from 86 GXL
Shed had, among others:
Complete 86 LSD rear subframe
Two broken NA's, one disassembled, one still together
One TII, two NA trannies
Custom-made rotary engine stand adaptor
Driveway/yard had (all at once, mind you)
86 base, blue, converted to GXL suspension
86 GXL, dk blue, converted to 91 TII body & susp
86 GXL, no motor or tranny, TII LSD rear
87 GX, silver, originally AT, converted to MT
90 GXL, lt blue, nothing special

Non-parts items in the house included:
Yamaguchi FD book
Mazda Gold Portfolio
Mike Ancas RX-7 performance book
John Matras RX-7 Color History
RX-Evolv t-shirts from Rotary News
TII Pillows from Rotary News
Requisite RB/MZTX/MazdaComp catalogs
Oh, and I used the leather 91 seats for GT and GT2

No posters, though...

I have no pics of the inside of the house, or the shed, but the following people from the club hane seen the mess and can vouch for me:
technonovice
NOTA944
SCRX7
7 eleven
Outside pics can be seen at http://www.clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/mazdarx7club under Ren's Rx7s, but I think you have to be a member to see it. If you're not, and don't feel like joining, you can check out my alter ego's profile at:
http://profiles.yahoo.com/rensrx7s . The pic there is one of three I took of the cars all lined up. In order from right to left, they are: 91 AT, 86 base (5-lug), 86 base 2+2 (not mine), 90 gxl, 87 GX, 86 GXL (no motor), and 86 (91 TII body).
Almost all the cars are gone now
, as I couldn't afford to store them. Most of the parts are still at my house, though they're not in the bedroom anymore. The guy who's renting it out said no dice for leaving them there, as he needed them for some "baby room" or some such nonsense :pI think this qualifies me as a 2nd gen addict.

On a side note, ever notice how many people have seen that movie a million times? It boggles the mind.

Mike,
Man, I've been looking all over for that book.
Where'd you get it?
As far as the poster in the pic from The Princess Bride:
("No more rhyming, and I meant it!" "Anybody want a peanut?")
I watched the movie just this morning. The best shots of the poster seems to be between 4:27 and 4:48 into the movie (counting credits and other stuff on the video), where Peter Falk is just starting to tell the story. I studied the pic as best I could and came to the conclusion that it is neither 944 nor RX-7. It's hard to tell for sure exactly what it is, but it is definitely not either of those two.
You can't really tell in the picture posted by UniqueTII, but in the movie you can just barely make out a window between the B pillar and C pillar, so that automatically rules out any FC or FD (which we all knew it wasn't anyway). Before someone pipes in about 1st gen's, the B pillar window in those was designed to look like part of the rear hatch, so the thick part of the frame is nearer the B pillar than the C pillar, just the opposite of what the poster shows.
A 944 does have a B pillar window, but it's shaped differently. The C pillar looks more slender (by comparison) on a 944 than it does on the car in the poster. Also, you can kind of tell that the fenders aren't very flared on the poster car, unlike a 944, which has pretty meaty flares.
In addition, the front and rear overhangs are way too short on that car for it to be either a 944 or a RX-7. And it couldn't be an Escort because in 1987, when this movie was released, Escorts still had that boxy looking body, even in Europe.
Upon further investigation, I have to agree with Fprep that it's a RS200. And what a car it was...

then under the table column "Specials" click on RS200
About halfway down the page is a 3/4 right rear view that looks almost just like the one in the poster. Note the reverse-bullet shaped thingies that appear to be air ducts on the roof just before the rear hatch. If you look closely in the movie, you can see those.

If you just HAVE to have one... Note that it's no longer original in color, as they were only produced in white with blue decals (or so I've read).
From the side it just looks goofy, in my opinion. But it looks decent from the front and okay from the rear. Hard to argure the performance, though.
Now, all it needs is a rotary...

Do a search at either Barnes and Noble, Books A Million, or Amazon for Jack Yamaguchi.
He wrote two books, authorized, and with the help of, Mazda.
The first, RX-7 -- The New Mazda RX-7 and Mazda Rotary Engine Sports Cars, was published in 1985, and covers all Mazda rotaries until the advent of the FC.
The second, The Mazda RX-7: Mazda's Legendary Sports Car, was published in 1992, and covers the rest of the FC's and the introduction of the FD.
I have the second, and I bought it through http://www.speednation.com/rx7index.htm about a year ago. I also bought Mazda RX-7 Gold Portfolio 1978-1991, from Brooklands Books (no publishing date). It's an interesting compilation of articles from various sources regarding FB's and FD's. I just looked for these books on the Speed Nation site, though, and they're not listed anymore. I guess they sold out.
I doubt this link will work, but this is a list of people who carry the first Yamaguchi book.
