Think my motor has about had it

I just bought this 90 GTU and I think the motor is about to go. Ok here's what happeneds, when I floor it and about 4.5K it starts making this weird noise or something. I don't know what it is. Also my car seems to go through times when i can be driving and put it in nuetral or puch in the clutch and it stalls. Could this mean that don't have the compression that I need or something? Should I do the ATF trick or something to see if thats it or what? Let me know what you guys think please before i spend a sh*t load of money to buy a j-spec or rebuilding.

Be a little more specific on the high rpm noise. As far as the car stalling when shifting to neutral is because the rpm is allowed to fall below 500 either by incorrect dashpot setting or fuel cutting off too quickly (TPS adjustment) or maybe a faulty BAC valve. Use a manual to check those three first and let us know.

i replaced the BAC and adjusted the tps correctly still does it. And the noise sound like it is bogging or something like that. Kinda like a splat- splat over and over again like one rotor is having trouble turing over. Its kinda hard to explain does that help

how would a incorrect dashpot setting affect it and what exactly is it?

A dashpot is sorta like a miniature shock absorber. They are used on the throttle linkage to prevent the butterflies from slamming shut. The last few millimeters of travel on the linkage hits the dashpot and the closing of the throttle plates is slowed down after that point. A dashpot that is not adjusted correctly might allow the throttle plates to close too quickly and the engine would die because the computer didn't have time to adjust the fuel air mixture.

Have you checked the obvious things, like air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs/wires?

I know this may sound stupid, but make sure all of your air hoses are on tight. Good luck!
