think this is a good deal

i am thinking about buying a 1989 s/5 gtu. its got 10x,xxx miles on the body. the engine has about 25,000 miles stage 2 street port. the front brakes are upgraded to the 4 piston turbo 2 brakes. they're only feq things wrong with it. the suspension is bad, the tranny has no 3rd gear and small dents and starchs in a few places. and my friend is selling it to me for $1,500. i was just wondering if i am getting a good deal? thanx in advance travis

sounds decent to me. get a tranny rebuild and new paint, and you'd have a pretty nice car(for an N/A )

I say go for it. Its not going to cost you that much to get that thing in good order again.

Good deal. Lowball him, and settle on a "happy midle"... like $750

You can get a used tranny for CHEAP, and swapping them is very simple. Just need access to tools and preferrably a hoist.
