and a TII faster than an MKIII Supra Turbo? The supra has 70 ftlb of torque on the TII, and 50 HP. I think it would be a close race, but I dont' think that the TII would win in the end.
Ya they also have around 900lbs of added weight too.

Supras weigh 3600 lbs. A TII beats a MKIII Turbo, and a GXL beats a MKIII N/A.

My 10AE weighs 2926 LB.

182HP (stock), 183 torque?

= 16.0 lb/hp

supra : 230 HP, 252 ftlb torque.
3600 LB

= 15.6 LB/HP.

+ supra has MORE torque

Stock vs. stock, the supra would win, period. It would be a CLOSE race, but the supra has a better power-to-weight.

a stock 1987 924S will outhandle and outrun a stock 1987 GXL. Probably outbrake it too. I'd be willing to bet it's more reliable, as there are many MANY 924/944 series cars pushing 300,000 miles on their first engine. I bet there's less than 5 rx-7s that have seen 300,000 miles on their first, unrebuilt engine. They don't have any weird electrical issues, either.

I have seen a 928 porsche with a 30 K maintence record, maybe I have just seen the junky one's.

N/a Supras have almost 200HP. N/a rx-7s have 140. I don't think that race would be very close, and I certainly dont' think that the rx-7 would be ahead in the end.

When I still had my NA, my brother drive it when we first got it running (he has an MKIII), and he said that it felt and was faster than his car. And I will also find out about the TII being faster than a turbo Supra, because I now have a turbo, and when I get it running again. I'll take him for a ride and see what he says.

But a supra weighs 3,600 lb. and an RX-7 weighs 2,500, so power to weight ratio the RX-7 wins. But the supra is a GT car.

I just PROVED that the turbo supra is faster!

Do you want 0-60 and 1/4 mile times too, or what?

Sure, gear ratios, tire size, etc.. but, stock for stock, the supra is a faster car.

Cory : Look at my last post, you'll see that the supra has a better power to weight ratio. And one bad 928 = all 924s suck? did I miss something?

Maybe against your pig.

My brother is Supra crazy, and he is saying that stock to stock, the TII would win, and not an over weight AE model. A regular old TII.

I guess you did miss something, I just don't like porsche's, and I have never really seen one run that great. But then again I do have a TII

why don't all you supra people get together with all you porsche people and set yourselves on fire. If you cant blindly defend an rx7 to your death then you shouldn't be on THIS forum. Theres no force on earth that can convince me that the rx7 isn't the best car in the world. You guys may have some numbers and facts but I've got a really bad mean streak and a sword and I'm willing to use them!

You didnt prove ****, except that it has a better PEAKpower/weight ratio. Did you figure in gear ratios, unsprung weight, rotating mass, power dellivery, weight distribution, spring rates, tire size, aero drag, and durability?

Whats this garbage?

Terrh SAID stock for stock

sure these things play a role, but theyre very MINISCULE especially bone stock..

You're saying then that a 414 FWHP K-Car has a chance of losing against my 150ish bhp GXL because of all these little things?

Think logically.

No i didnt, he proved that the Supra has a slightly better power to weight ratio, not a huge amount.

But lets say the K-car is shaped like a giant box, flat front end, will heavy *** 20"rims that are 10" wide wrapped in snow tires, with cloud like springs, and FWD with 90% of the weight in the back, not to mention the cooling system might be inadequate so it can only make 1 hot run every 30 mins, oh and its final drive ratio is 2.0 and has a 3 spd tranny, but its ok because it makes 400 hp@ 9000rpms and 100 ft-lbs@8500.
