I am assumign they will be ok since it is on the face of the rotor and will probally just be filled in with carbon as soonas they are back in.

Looks like excessive carbon damage already. I wouldn't use them assuming carbon will fill in the gouges as the carbon will probably damage them further. You will get terribly uneven compression.

well like 1990rxheaven said, you're gonna probably get an uneven compression test. Those rotors might get you back and forth to school/work but seeing as how you already have them out of your car, you might as well start looking for a couple good rotors to put back in.

Consequently if your rotors look like that, what do your housings look like?

The side housings look like they are in decent shape and they are within specs, Im mailing them to racing beat to get resurfaced, seems no one around here will want to resurface them. The rotor housings look good also. Here are some pics and here are pics of the other rotor, not nearly as bad as the first.
If I am replacing the rotors, is there any advantage to getting FD rotors? If I did get them would I need the stationary gears, etc?

First of all NICE ******* CAMERA! haha. id get another set of rotors and depending on what your goals with the engine are. some different rotor housings too. Is there anything you can catch you nail on on the rotor housings surface other than the spark plug holes and exhaust port? hahaha

Thanks on the camera, It is the lens that makes all the difference.
The rotor housings feel really smooth. I havent been able to feel anything.
The car has a JDM TII, I got a Walbro in it now,3rd gen corner seals/springs, I got new oil control rings/water seals, side seals/springs, rotary aviation 2 piece apex seals, I did a TID mod, k&n cone filter.
Was going to port the wastegate, streetport the intake/exhaust, remove the air pump and acv, and a full RB exhaust, FCD.
What about the FD rotors, any advantage? Any suggestions on the mods?

Defenitely port the wastegate. I'd even reccomend using a larger flapper. Alot of people weld on Honda exhaust valves. I ported mine actually a bit larger then the stock flapper door, and I would see 15psi in third (not good on stock injectors, haha). I now run a gt32, externally gated, so no boost issues other than me wanted more boost.

About the rotors, FC s5 rotors and FD rotors have the same compression. Id just run s5 rotors I'm assuming its a s5 engine? They run 9.0:1 instead of the s4's 8.5:1. Stick with whats in it or go with fd's as long as there no balancing issues. Might need fd counterwieght and such.

Id slap in some bigger secondaries and something to control it with (piggey back unless you want to do a standalone which is always a good choise IMO). That way you have enough fuel. I couldnt get by stock turbo with ported wastegate on stock oem flapper door to get consisten boost. It all depending on which gear, my foot, and temp outside. Id see 15-20 psi, which is gay b/c if your smart you let off RIGHT AWAY hahah

Thanks a bunch for the information. I used to know a lot about this stuff until I started getting more immunobiology information crammed in my head then I didnt seem to have as much time to mess around with the rx7. Thanks again.
