these ECU's worth it?

i been looking around at this local shop near here. They mainly specialize in Porsches, BMWs, V-Dubs, and a few other German cars, but they have two ECU upgrades for RX7s. Are these worth the price?

Well, I guess it depends on whether you feel $200 plus dollars equals the HP numbers. The upgrade would be good for the advertised HP, by remapping,fuel/air,timing etc., but you will need to use premium.

Is that for TII or N/A? 25hp at the wheels for 295 on a TII, I would think that money could be better spent on exhaust upgrages, SAFC, etc. N/A, that'd be alot of ponies..

it is for N/A. A previous page let you choose what car you had and listed what was available for what car, this is the particular one for an NA

what other ECUs are there available for RX7s that are at a more reasonable price? I remember watching Horsepower TV one day and Chuck was talking about how ECU upgrade was one of the best bang for the buck upgrades. He said they normally costed around 50-100 bux and adds around 40 horses.

When I get a spare ECU I plan on sending it to them. It's a good deal, and I have lots of respect for Autothority. They make some WICKED cars and have been in the business for some time. Also...for $300 what other mods can you think of that will give you 26rwhp on an N/A. I could see if it was a turbo, but still it's a good deal even then. Just because you ONLY get 26 rwhp doesn't mean that the band isn't made better...it just tells you what you get a a certain point. Very worthwhile if you ask me...it'll be a world of difference.

if they modded the fuel maps and ignition timing it surely would have better power throughout the whole rev band. hopefully someone will get one soon and let us know either with a butt dyno or a real dyno. when i have 300 bucks ill get one and see how it improves on my gtech.
