thermowax/omp rod question

im curious as to why there is a difference in these thermo waxs one has a in and out for water while the other has a in and then through the tb and out a barb. are they for different years n/a or turbo??

also what are the vac nipples on there for maybe the 1st set of secondary butterfly's???

omp rods is there a difference between n/a and turbo i cant seem to find where it hooks up to on my tb.

im using a n/a elbow on the tb and need to put the intake temp sensor on could i drill a hole then thread the sensor in would that work sufficient enough i had a idea of maybe using some abs pipe glue to help seal it in . any suggestions would be great,

heres my project

I'd assume the differences in the thermowax passageways are year/model related. But either way, it doesn't matter. The back side is always sealed against a flat metal surface. My '88 NA TB had a plastic spacer and the thermowax unit you have on the right (no holes).

The nipples on the thermovalve are for the secondary double throttle.

The OMP rod connects to a spot on the end of the primary throttle assembly. I think they're the same on turbos and NAs. If anything, there would only be minor differences in shape that could be bent to fit.

could i remove the thermo valve and put a bolt in the hole? im sure if i got it welded shut that would mess up the thermowax.. since i am removing the 1st set of butterflys its not needed

the thermowax unit with 2 hoses is NA, turbo has one, because it has a small passage in the TB

the wax pellet, and thermovalves are the same, just different housing.

the TB pic isnt good enough
