Thermowax ?
Thermowax ?
Ok My 87 t2 when it warms up idles at about 2000rpm. I just got around to checking out some thing on the car i think it's the thermowax. Becouse when i lift up on the ajusting screw at the thermowax the idle go to about 800- 900 rpm. The little plunger on the thermowax is not popping up when the engine warms up. So i turned the screw most the way in till the rpm were at about 800. I was wondering if i could leave it like that as a temp fix or do i need to do something right a way. Thanks Tony
You can leave it like it is now, there is nothing to worry about. My car had been bypassing the thermowax for a very long time. You can take the thermowax out and test it, to see if it is the problem. The procedure is in the FSM.
