On the contrary, you should do whatever you can to stop it. The AWS system is used to rapidly heat up the precat for emissions reasons, but I'd hate to think of the engine damage done in the first 10 seconds of running a stone cold engine at 3000rpm immediately after start.

 

then should i pull my bac in addition to the thermowax to stop it? i plan on doing the oil pellet shim some time soon to keep everything lubed all the time. and my confusion was only from not understanding how the engine will not do the aws when warm if it doesnt have a thermowax OR radiator thermo-switch to tell it its warm.

 

i gues i could just start in gear all the time......

 

Pull the AWS solenoid, leave the BAC in place.
