thermostats going please tell me something

ok in the last month ive been through 3 thermostats and something gots to be wrong but heres the thing ive never put them in with that little bead on top and ive always tightened the piping that connects to the water pump harder than specific in the haynes book (i dont torque it to certain lbs i just hand tighten like crazy) could that be screwing up all the stats? because im thinking about just taking it out and leaving it out. and yes im positive 199% is the stat that making my heat rise.

Only use a Mazda thermostat and install it as per the instructions in the FSM. If you do this, the thermostat will not cause a problem. If you still have an overheating problem after installing a new thermostat, the problem is elsewhere. Don't leave it out, that'll just cause other problems.
