Is this a thermosender/sensor on the Radiaor? (Pic)

im not sure what this is, but one of the wires is snipped off... im wondering if this is part of my problem with my car over heating terribly, to a point where you can hear the coolant boil. Ive searched all over for this "thermal sender/sensor" couldnt find anything. My next step was to call Mazdatrix but its to early.

thanks

It's a water temp SWITCH that lets the ECU know the water temp is b/t something like 55 to 95 degrees F so it can control the Switching solenoid and the Air Bypass Solenoid. Not related to overheating in any way, shape or form.

Water thermo sensor on the back of the water pump HOUSING has nadda to do with overheating.

Overheating is radiator related, fan related and blown coolant seals b/t rotor housing related.
