Is there a place where I can buy a NEW engine?

I have found lots of places that will rebuild engines but I haven't found any place that will sell a new engine. Is there such a thing?

If I did get a new engine, I would assume it would just be the core. What kind of money am I looking at to get all of the other engine components. (including Turbo) Thanks in advance.

btw I did search.

Mazda dealers sell remanufactured engines, which is about as close as you are going to get to new.

In theory you could buy all new parts to put an engine together, but Im sure that gets expensive.

All the pieces...

Around $5600-$5800 for the block alone. And that will be before getting the pieces shipped.

way too expensive...

find yourself a good car and start looking around for pieces.. I got decent front, rear and center housing for a NA and 2 rotors(eccentric shaft) and you pay $1000 for the housings ... I can get you a NA block for $2000...guaranteed to work.. The Casting housings are already painted RED.. no charge there..

let me know..apeake@sc.rr.com

no thanks, it was just something that I was considering but it seems a little too farfetched now that I see these kinds of figures. Thanks anyway though, atpeak23

My Mechanic, got their hands on some ex mazda japan warranty replacement stock. The Series 4 13B turbo engine I got has been sitting around for 13+ years, but it was all sealed up in the original packaging. So far nothing wrong with it, cost $4000 AUD just for the block. Do they still make 13B engines for cars 10-16 years old?

I always wonder if when you get a reman engine, do they apply any new technology to them.

For example, if there was an engineering problem in the original engine and a new part would fit without complication, would Mazda put that new part into the reman?

My guess is no, but it would be a pleasent surprise to learn otherwise.

Order of My Personnel Preference:
1. Pineapple Racing ( www.pineappleracing.com )
2. Mazda MANA engine sent to Judge ITO for Porting
3. Revolution Rotary ( www.Revolutionrotary.com )
4. Bruce Torrentino (www.rotaryaviation.com)
5. Rotary Resurrection (MAx Low Budget Rebuild)

There are others, Hayes, Atkins but I think theses are too much mass merchants and have lost the personnal touch the owners USED to put in there engines. [the preceding is my PERSONNAL opinion gained from phone conversations and E-mails when I was purchasing an Engine last year]

After 230k miles, I bought a replacement engine from the local dealer. It was around $2100. It included the block, flywheel, and water pump, but no intake/exhaust. They required my old engine as a core, it has 50k miles on it now, but I ran into a truck 2 weeks ago (http://home.cfl.rr.com/dcmattius/) and I'm considering what I want to do with the whole car. Too bad you're not in Florida, I'de make you a great deal on it.

This was my 3rd RX7, and I've learned what to do and what not to do to get long life out of the rotary. Never let it overheat, plus check and change the oil alot are my main advice. Once you start seeing consistant smoke coming out of the tail pipes, it's just a matter of time.

Matt

ps. watch out for stopped trucks too

Mazdatrix S5 Block ALL NEW PARTS!
4,148.00
http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=MZTX-TB-2E00

Want a new turbo?
S5 Turbo NEW!
1,982.15
http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=13-7000-N370

See where this is going? All the stuff that makes a longblock from a shortblock could be purchased used, an aftermarket turbo would be a reasonable choice as well.

Lots of $$
