Was there an insert on the dash if no cruise

Was there an "insert" into the space on the dash where the cruise control handle would normally go? I removedmy cruise, so now I have a hole in the gauge sorround.
Thanks,
-a

Yes, yes there was. Probably easily found at the wreckers, or a few dollars at Mazda.

yeah but doesn't it need a vac line and some other things and a thottle cable? if it is fairly easy to do i'll kick myself, i was told it was a pain in the *** so i scraped the cruise on my 86 gxl with the rest of the car after i used all the parts

Nope, they sold them brand new with a hole in the dash if the car wasn't equipped with cruise.

As one of the redneck comedians would say, "here's your sign".

Uh, a cruise control swap on a RX-7 is pretty darn easy.

I point you to our favorite Canadian's website. http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/cruise.htm

There are 3 (4, depending on how you count) parts. The switch in the dashboard, the CPU back up under the driver's side with the other CPUs, the actuator in the engine bay, and then the bracket for said actuator.

There are also two different "models" - Turbo, and non-turbo. The turbo actuator is fully electronic, whereas the non-turbo one is vacuum driven.

My car (88 SE) has a Turbo II cruise control in it. Other than being stupid on occasion (not wanting to set - I have a questionable switch), it works fine.
