is there any interchangeable internal electrical parts accross the mazda/ford family?

specifically im asking about the power window switches. i took my door panels off and the internals of the passenger side fell apart. the housing is ok, but the internals are missing all the springs and plastic goodies. so i was just wondering if any other mazdas or fords out there have the same internal connecters or mechanisms. because if i can get the guts out of a miata or mustang switch for $20, i wont have to spend $70+ on an rx7 part.

ive got a 91

I remember seeing a thread about using the power window switch from another Mazda vehicle... I think a minivan? Maybe Clokker will chime in... he seems to get all his stuff from junkyards

I've done the MPV switch swap. I don't remember the details of it, but you do need to switch a couple of the wires on the MPV switch.

k, ill go to pick n pull tomorrow and browse around, hopefully one of the mpv's the have will have one. as for the wires, i guess ill have to do trial and error... how complicated can a 5 wire system be? :P

or just maybe ill get lucky and the rx7 they have there will have power windows...

Here is a writeup on MPV switches.

You cannot transfer the switch itself into the FC mounting plate, don't bother trying.
The MPV plate is slightly longer, it doesn't want to pop in as easily as stock.

this is just an update, i went to the salvage yard and unfortunately someone else got the switch out of the rx7, but i did make off with an undamaged center console to replace mine, a straight sunroof to replace my wavy dented one, a shifter boot and some switches out of an MPV (the passenger one plugged right in)

and from reading about an electric fan mod here on the forums, i got the fan shroud out of a nissan quest, ill install that one later
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...ic-fan-895916/

luckily the lady that rang me up was susceptible to flirting so i walked out the door with all this stuff for $60

thanks for the help guys, i love you all

my car was an automatic and the rubber boot on the shifter was torn to shreds, so ive got air flow coming through pulling heat from the exhaust, and the a/c was removed, and the people i give rides to, give me money, trust me, im their last resort because they know how bumpy and hot a ride from me is :P
