Are there any changes in hp or body styles between the 87 & 88 GXL's?
I was just wondering if the body style or horsepower changed between the 87 & 88 GXL's?

No.

The 86-88 GXL's are all the same.

In 89-91 they got more HP and better (IMO) looks.

the only differences are:
86 the "mazda" and "rx7" are both decals
87 "mazda" is actually a badge
88 they are both badges
