Testing tps with VOM off car.HOW?

I have a couple TPS's here and would like to test them, make sure they are good. Also what Series they are.( I have a couple that look different..assuming s4 and s5 or something).
Which wires to I probe, and what setting on the VOM do I use?
I would rather Not test Each one on my car.The Tps's are OUt of the car and on the Bench.Thanks.STYX.

For the S4 ones (3-prong plug) Obtain a multimeter, stick the negative probe in the back of the plug where the black/red wire enters, and the positive in the green/red one. Push the plunger in and see if it reads less than 1k ohms, then let the plunger out and make sure the reading doesn't exceed 5-6k ohms. Also make sure the sweep from open to closed is smooth, with no jumps or dead spots.
