testing tps ground
testing tps ground
Could somebody please confirm that the tps wire (1 of 3) with the 6ohm resistance to ground, as opposed to much larger values, is actually the ground wire? I'm still pretty green with all this electrics stuff

It should be a black wire on the connector heading away from the tps. With the meters lead on the battery negative terminal and the positive on the black wires connector, the reading shoud be less than 0.10 ohms. 6 ohms is a bunch toooooo much. Do this with the key to the off position, please. Strive for less than one ohm. If your leads won't reach the battery neg post I guess you'll have to just ground to the block with your neg lead. Not as good a checkout though.
There is a possibility that the ground wire is a brown/black wire. They changed from that color to the pure black somewhere in 88.
The green/red is the output of the tps to the ECU.
The br/w is the reference voltage or approx 4.5/5 volts.
