Temperature sender (guage) question?
Alright search *****, i did a search on my question but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, so pardon me.
I have an 87 that originated it's life as an N/A. Then I bought a JDM 89 TII engine for it. The engine didn't come with a harness and the orinal harness was burnt along with the computer. I managed to source an 87 TII harness and computer for it for 50 bucks (win!). Now the engine is in car runs and drives fine but as we all know s4 and s5 temp senders are different.
The question: Is it as simple as getting a s4 temp sender and screwing it onto the s5 engine or is it a different size entirely (tapping new threads = fail)? Does anyone know any other way, something? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

If you dont have an auto tranny, use the threaded hole for the temp gauge for the electric fan. What I did is found a bolt that fitted the thread style, made a hole in the middle and taped it so I could screw in the temp sensor for my autometer water temp gauge. It took 45 minutes. Works like a charm.
