Temp Gauge..What Should It Read?

Mine reads at halfway between "H" and "C". Is this normal? I got a 1991 n/a w/ intake. It has NEVER gone past that, and my coolant is not dirty, and I have no coolant leaks from what I can see. Am I in trouble?

I believe you are perfectly fine with your car running that way. I have found FC's to vary greatly from car to car. My friends old 87 N/A ran at like 1/8th between H and C. It was amazing. Mine runs anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2. I am not worried about my car, but a Fluidyne radiator is in the plans for the near future. I live in AZ, so any added protection is fine by me. I wouldnt worry, but, if it someday wanders above that 1/2 mark, I would be a tad concerned.

I told you guys that this would happen!!! Argh.

Rico, your car's running fine The 89-91s should run a hair under 1/2. The 86-88s are a little bit more "accurate" and will vary from 1/4 to 1/3. Don't worry

You should be fine man, if it ever creeps above the 1/2 mark, turn off the car. Later, try replacing your thermostat.
