Isn't it tachometer? I guess a tacometer would be the number of tacos lined up end to end to make a meter long line.

Its a yellow/blue wire. Goes/comes from the trail coil assy. See page 50-40 and page 50 - 41 of the online, factory service manual at http:www.iluvmyrx7.com or several other places on the web that have Free online service manuals for the 88RX. The 86-88 are on the whole the same animal.

There are two white, round plugs on the back of the combination meter assy. One has your yellow/blue wire. There is another connector about a foot fwd of that meter assy , it's rectangular in construction, has 21 of its 22 sockets filled. One of those wires is......yellow/blue. The yellow/blue wire in it is for the...........

Why are you worried about your tach wire?

my tach stopped working so i checed fuses but it wasn't burnt and so i thought i would check the wire
