Question Tech Questions.

Sup People?

I am new to the forum. Seems to be a lot of knowledge in here!!! Thats good cause i need it.

I am currently stuffing a Chevy 350 into my 88 GXL with a 200-4R automatic overdrive tranny. I am removing the power steerring, but I am not sure what holes on the rack to plug, connect, etc..... If anyone has done this mod please help me. I have machined a delete block to connect two of the holes , but i am not sure it is the right two holes. I am posting a pic of it.

Also i am looking for an accurate wiring diagram to use to patch into my factory wires. I DO NOT have the engine harness and need to know what wires go to the temp guage, ( i have made an adapter to use the factory temp sensor) and oil pressure guage(mazda sending unit threads are compatible with chevy).

Also I need to know what wires to ground to make OEM fuel pump work without the computer.
I need all possible hot wires for distributer etc....

Basically i need to know what every darn wire does so i can fip out the ones i dont need.

Thanks for any help you have to offer.

Hey I just finished converting my power steering to non-power. I will post some pics soon. Pretty simple stuff.

No probs! Go to www.fc3s.org and in the menu on the left click How-To's, Manuals, 86-88 Factory Service Manual. Then right-click and save the Wiring Diagrams chapter down the bottom. It's 9.5MB it'll take a while!

Do what I did. Find a mate with high-speed internet and a CD burner. Got the whole 83MB FSM on CD-ROM for a bottle of wine!

For your fuel pump, find the terminal back int eh hatch area(driver strut speaker tower, 4 wire plug under carpet). There are 4 wires...2 for the sender and 2 for the power. The bigger of the 2 are power..blue and black IIRC.
Just run your own power wire from switch access and ground the pump in the hatch.

For the temp gage, Ill assume you mean the one on the driver side rear of the old rotary block. The little single prong. That wire runs through the engine harness, past the ecu and tot he gage cluster. If I were you Id just run my own wire right form it to my gage cluster.
