Might I also recommend the Bruce Turrentine Rebuild video.
Also, check www.mazdatrix.com or www.atkinsrotary.com
Think theres a thread on here of someone rebuilding one too, try search.

dude I have owned these cars for 4 years (turbo and nonturbo) and I am only now putting together my first motor. If you have never built a motor at all before you may be getting in over your head. It requires a lot of organization (50 bazillion little pieces, seals, and gaskets), and many hours of studying service manuals, videos, and pictures of how every little thing goes together. and it gets even more complicated when it comes to clearancing side seals for example and evaluating how usable parts are. you also need decent hand tools and I would recommend an air compressor as well.
I genuinely think anybody can do it, but it's not a task that should be taken lightly, not if you want it to make good compression and not have any kind of premature failure. if you just want to get the car running without costing too much, it would be quicker and possibly cheaper to just take it to a professional

Smoke moar
Hes that west coast ricer drift dude, I think he rebuilt it himself blew it in a few days got it rebuilt by lucky7 and got into debt
I'd suggest the OP doesnt do a rebuild unless they want to learn and take it slow if my engine blows in the next year a shop will be doing it, if I have another car and a house; I'll spend a month and do it right
