Tap for Haltech Air Temp Sensor? Which one?
I am in the middle of installing a Haltech and need to know what Tap I need to install the Air temp sensor. Rather than going to sears and testing till I find the right thread/size. Also is the stock O2 sensor ok to use for the Haltech? This is on a '89 TII

I *believe* you need a 3/8th NPT tap, which is a royal pain to find.

Oh - forgot the other question. Yes, the stock O2 sensor will work just fine with the Haltech.

Seems like it is bigger than 3/8ths is my problem. Its larger than the 1/2" tap I have here at least. Unless NPT is measured differently
Thanks

Yep, NPT is weird. Trust me on this one.
You'll probably run all over town trying to find a 3/8" NPT tap - they're not common. 1/4 and 1/8th NPT is the common stuff.

all the haltech sensors have 3/8" NPT threads. NPT- is a tapered thread and is very common plumbing size, it is not the same as a 3/8" bolt thread it is much larger. if local tool supply does not have the tap try a plumbing supply shop. also get the corresponding drill bit.
