Take apart S5 taillights

some semi made a wide turn yesterday and hit the back of my car, my car got a little dent and the paint was scratched up, it also cracked my drive side tail light, the turn signal cover part

i happend to have one S5 extra driver taillight in my storage. my question is does anyone know how can i take the taillight apart without cracking it ? i need to swap the turn signal cover.

mine is a S5 convertible and its taillights are pretty hard to come by and i am pretty broke so i dont plan of getting another one.

Once you get the tail light out, You should be able to just take out the screws, heat the hot glue and swap the covers.

But on convertibles you normally have to swap the whole cover (black and colored parts) as they are generally welded together.

you'll need a heat gun, a hair drier might not do it
