Exclamation Tail lights aren't coming on any help?

my tail lights light up when i turn my head lights on.
all the exterior lights are working fine, side markers ext.
my tail lights are lighting up.
but when i press the brake pedal, they dont flash! signaling ppl that i am slowing down/stopping.
is there any other fuses or relays relating to the tail lights?
i've checked and replaced the STOP fuse. but cant find any other fuse thats related to it.
it is kind of a big deal since its my tail lights..
otherwise i wouldnt have bothered with it.. lol
would it have anything to do with the headlight switch on the cluster surround?

Since when have brake lights ever flashed? Are you saying they don't light up at all?

is there any other fuses or relays relating to the tail lights?
You just said the taillights were fine. I though the brake lights were the problem. There are two completely seperate systems. The only thing they they share is the dual-filament bulbs.

There is only one fuse for the brake lights.

it is kind of a big deal since its my tail lights..

No.

Just like I told you for the fuel pump, grab a wiring diagram and check for voltage at each point in the circuit until you find where it stops.

okay. stoping lights arent working.
so then the tail lights share two seperate systems?
what i mean by "flash" is they dont come on when i press the brakes.
the tail lights light up when i turn the **** for night time driving where all my lights come on.
but when i hit the brakes. it doesnt get brighter, or do anything different.

the filament bulbs.. would it be possible that they ALL went bad?? since none light up when i hit the brakes.

CPU brake pedal switch

your CPU black box on the drivers side kick panel inside the car has gone bad or the switch on the brake pedal is bad

You need to be clearer with your descriptions. "Taillights" can refer to two things; either the complete physical assembly of housings, lenses and bulbs, OR the bulbs that light up with the front and side marker lights. I'm referring to the latter.

The taillights and the brake lights are two complete different circuits. Different fuses, different switches, different wiring. Only the bulbs are shared, with each bulb having a 5W filament for the taillights and a 21W filament for the brake lights.

what i mean by "flash" is they dont come on when i press the brakes.
That's not flashing...

Okay, so the taillights are work fine; the brake lights aren't working.

Possible but unlikely. Have you checked for voltage at the bulbs when the brake predal is pressed? You will need to go to your car and do some actual troubleshooting. Just continuously asking questions (like with the fuel pump) won't fix anything. I wanna help, but you've got to do the things suggested.

Lemme guess, you just did something behind the center console? You are ground wrong. Make sure that all of your grounds are going to seperate ground points behind the dash.

Most aftermarket CD players grounded to the stock radio harrness will create a short in the circuit. The tail lights are the first to die.

Just pick a bolt behind the dash to ground to.

We've already established there's nothing wrong with the taillights. Please read the whole thread before posting.

drftpretty, nice try but i grounded my radio on a bolt too..
i didnt wanna strain the harness since it might not be grounding well enough as it was.
oh, and reason i was trying to go another route as opposed to testing the the electrical is that the multimeter i have (Craftsman).. cant figure out how to use it.. lol!!
but i got ahold of a simple one i can use today.
i'll post up what it was if i figure it out.
thanks for your help anyways NZ.
its very much appreciated lol.
