Tail light cleaning?

Hello all,

I have 2 sets of tail lights, one set on the car, another set just bought....these are the rectangular type. They both have a bit of whiteness in the black areas, I assume from waxing them.

Does anyone know the best method for removing the white "smears" or are they a lost cause?

Thanks

J

I believe that's the clear coat, I usually just sand them.

Do you reapply the clear after or just leave em dull?

Thanks

I generally will start off with like 400 or so, to get most of the old clear off, then I drop down and finish off with with some wet paper, that usually leaves them nice and clean again and looking like they're actually black, then I get some of that spray can clear coat and hit them with it a few coats and tada, good as new.
