tacometer not working

hey guys, i had some questions about the tach, ever since i got the car(which was a whopping 3 days ago) the tach hasn't worked along with the temp guage, and i have looked at the dizzy toward the front and there is a wire that is not connected and there is a yellow wire from the fusebox next to it that also isn't connected, i tried connecting them but no luck.
suggestions?

The braided wire at the CAS is a shield wire and attaches to nothing at THAT end.

The tach works off the trail coil assy. If the trail coils are not firing then the tach won't work.

Idle the car and pull either of the trail sparkplug wires out of its bore in the coil and see if it's sparking or ....not. If NOT then the problem is trail coil/ignitor related and not tach related.

The yellow wire mention is meaningless since there's no picture to go along with your post.
