T2 Rim Question

Think you have the years mixed up...
The T2 rim was the same from 87-88 with the exception that the rim in 88 was a polished style finish while the 86-87 T2 rim was a gray.

Wrong. 87 and 88 TII wheels are different.
The 88 rim has fewer spokes and all of them have the "machined" face with clearcoat.
The 87 wheel has three different factory finishes. Two different colors of paint, "pewter" and silver. The third finish is rare, a machined face like the 88 wheels but with more spokes.
I like the 88 wheels better, I haven't weighed them but they are probably slightly lighter. Either way those wheels are TANKS. Get something lighter as soon as you can. You'll notice the difference in performance.

funny that I wouldn't have ever noticed that before.
BTW the Pewter wheels were found on VINs less than 500010 while the bright silver were found on VINs 500010-528625
