T2 questions...

are ignition wires and spark plug wires the same thing???

someone on the fc3s forum suggest my problem could be the ignition wires or coils...what kind of symptoms would this suggest? i haven't drive the T2 for two weeks, but when i did it could buck VIOLENTLY in 1st gear, and hesitate A LOT on the other gears (as if i was letting on/off the gas suddenly). I tested the TPS and it seemed off, so i have a new one on the way...

if the coils "go bad" or "fall out"......what does that mean? thanks

Ignition wires and plug wires are the same. I have the bucking problem also, you dont think its associated with the 3800rpm do you? Im pretty sure mine is. Theres a way to check the coils with a voltometer, im not sure on what it should read though. I could look and tell you what its supposed to be on an 86-88 coil though so youd have a refrence.

The ignitor pak has a coil and a ignitor. If either coil or the ignitor goes out the car would exhibit hestitaions....
First question:
Have you checked spark plugs or wires lately?

Mine was doing this alot last weekend after a long drive. Cleared up for the most part after a long drive.

Doesn't seem to be 3800rpm hesitation, mine will start to do it around 2-3K rpm. Changing the plugs this weekend, my GF doesn't let me outa her sight . What gets me is mine acts similar, but the problem COMPLETELY COMES AND GOES. I'd rather it do one or the other. I'm also guessing since everything is stock on my car with 80K now, I am going to swap wires along with the plugs. Change the oil and fuel filter too. Yippers, there goes friday.
