t2 problems

ok so i just got myself a 87 t2 and it has block off plates on it. but any way heres the problem. when the car is below about 2500 rpm and you just floor it it bogs down to about 1000-750 rpm then creeps up to 2-3 VERY VERY slowly. doesent matter if it is in first or free reving. but the car goes at about 1-2 miles per hour during that time if it is in first. then once it hits boost the car takes off. every once and awhile when it is doing this it makes a poping sound right before it takes off. if you ease into the throttle it doesent do it. and its not always full throttle either that it does it, some times if i go into the throttle to hard it does that as well. i think you would get a better idea of what it does if you drove it. the car floods alot and doesn't have the BAC valve. so i was wondering what exactly the BAC valve does and if that could be the problem. the intake pipe to the turbo has been converted to aluminum and the all the charge pipes are in good condition.

thanks-
carlos
