T2 pouring out fuel front front of engine, PD?

I was in traffic and my car started sputtering and lost power. It will start, run for a few secs, and then cut out. When it first happened, it did not pour out fuel (at least i dont think, it was really wet and night and asphault - hard to tell).

Anyways, i get it towed home.

Today, I go to start it and it revs to 3k like always, and goes to idle, idles for about 2 seconds, and dies. In this 5 seconds, it POURS out fuel. Its got to be at least a quart of fuel. I looked under the hood, and from what I can tell, it is coming from the front of the engine (one of the accesories below the alternator). This is all I could see was wet.

Any ideas? I'm thinking a busted fuel line or a bad PD or something. Originally I thought maybe blown apex seal, but now I'm not thinking this.

No, it's either the line, fuel rail, or PD.

G'luck..

Most likely it will be the fuel line next to the PD, is your PD pointing forward on towords the alternator? The threads from the screw of the PD are really damaged and is loose on my car so i have to replace that part? is there any other way to replace the PD without taking off the intake manifold?.........thanx

Since we're taking a poll here, I vote for a busted fuel line. The pulsation damper on a turbo faces aft, unlike a n/a, so I figure the flow would be towards the exaust at the rear of the engine if it were the PD. Yep, wild **** guess says fuel line up front, going from the primary fuel rail to the secondary fuel rail. Take a couple of hours this morning to remove the intercooler and upper manifold to identify the problem. Then write back your findings. Buy a fire extinguisher from PepBoys for approx fifteen bucks for the future.

thanks for the help.

Im going to try taking the Upper intake manifold today. What is involved in this? Im sure I could figure it out.

Im not positive where the fuel is coming from, because it pours out, not leaving a clear puddle. When I looked under the hood, I saw the front of the engine (an accessory under the alt.) was real damp

You really need someone to look at your engine while you crank it to see where gas is spraying out. Give them some safety goggles!!!

Oh yeah, clicked on the pics, very nice. Only your wheels are backward. You need to switch a right and a left. Did that on my old GXL

I looked under the car and had someone else start it

Gas is spraying (like its pressurized) out one of the fuel lines on the passenger side. Can i get fuel line at an Autozone or something? Im assuming i could fix this in under an hour

bob, those pics are from 6 months ago, right after I got her. Since then I have repainted her and I also fixed the wheels. Other than that nothing else has changed cosmetically. BUt that paint made a hugeeee difference

Yes, but make certain you specify fuel INJECTION hose. Different pressure spec.
