t2 and n/a diff and drive shafts differences

searched a while and could only come up with 2 differences

One came on the n/a's, one came on the T2's and
The n/a's is weaker than the T2's

whats the difference, is the gearing in the diff weaker? whats the deal with the halfshafts being different?

im all confused and cant find my answers

hehe..oops, alrite, ALL TII diff. are LSD. The series 4 are clutch style and the series 5 are all viscous LSD. Just so you know FD's have torsen units. The TII halfshafts are thicker in diameter than the NA halfshafts. the Driveshaft is ALSO thicker. The Diff and Tranny are also beefier.

The TII driveshaft is actually shorter than the NA because of a longer transmission on the TII, The TII driveshaft yoke will only fit the TII tranny, and the rear diff on the TII has a different flange than the NA, so the TII driveshaft will ONLY bolt in to a TII tranny and a TII diff. THEN the TII halfshafts will only bolt into the TII diff.

Ok, i knew that the tranny was beefer, but didnt know it was longer, why is driveshaft thcker, im no expert, but my n/a's shaft looks might large to me

all of the turbo drivetrain (tranny, driveshaft, differential, halfshafts) are pretty strong.
the usualy breaking limit of an N/A drivetrain is a little over 200hp I believe
I don't know what breaks though.

What is stronger, a 3/4" metal bar, or a 1" breaker bar? Its thicker because more metal means stronger parts, but in return, it weighs more.

Some of the NA driveshafts were the same thickness as the TII driveshafts. I don't know why, or which years or models had them, but I have only seen them in the earlier 86-87 NA cars. Maybe one of our trivia buffs can look it up?

Third gear seems to break first for some reason.
